We find Ben, a Welsh lawyer whose life appears to be stagnated. He still pines for his former girlfriend, Sinead, whom he met in Donegal, Ireland seventeen years ago. Meanwhile he's engaged to be married. When his brother, Harry, suggests they have a stag night to celebrate the end of Ben's bachelorhood, they head back where they had the most fun: Donegal. Chaos ensues when Harry gets himself into some trouble. It's up to Ben to save his brother, while confronting the woman who still holds a place in his heart.
The movie was originally intended for theatrical release, but instead has
aired on television in Wales, Ireland, Poland and Romania.
Jason and Michael have worked together in the professional stage productions of
Badfinger, Caligula and Look Back in Anger, and the rehearsed reading of Gas Station Angel. They also read short stories on the Essential Dylan Thomas audiobook CD.
Harry: "Hey, you said you got over her."
Ben: "I did. Course, I did.... I
think!"
Harry: "Here (hands him a hazelnut). You said you wanted to...
bury it in the sand."
Ben: "Throw it in the sea!!"
Harry: "Yeah, whatever."
"Sometimes it doesn't always work out no matter how much you love someone."
"Harry's been a good boy."
"I had my chance and I blew it. I'm not going to make that same mistake again."
Ben: "The bigger you get the better. It's your life. Go for it. It's too late for what I want now."
Harry: "You know what archeology has taught me, Benny Boy? It's never
too late. We're all a long time alone in a long box, little brother. We're
all..."
Harry and Ben: "Dead long enough."
Styx: "Want me to shoot Harry?"
Ben: (laughs) "Yes, actually. That would be a great idea."
Harry: "Since when do you give me orders?"
Ben: "Since today, bigshot."
